Photo taken from Deception Island, Antartica. Deception Island is unique due to its volcanic nature. It's actually the caldera of an active volcano, which last erupted in 1970 but it's past is full of conflict and destruction. In 1906, whalers established a base on the island, of which the remnants, can still be seen today.
